Milners Tower at Sunset

Sunset was due at 21:02 on Monday evening. I checked the weather forecast, clear skies. I checked the webcam at Port Erin, again the sky was clear. So it was a trip to Port Erin, or rather Bradda Head, to see if I could replicate a shot I took way back in the mid 80’s.

Mrs A-B was happy to come along and listen to the radio whilst doing her knitting. I had on the other hand, had a rather steep and long hike up to the headland

It took about 15 minutes to walk from the car park up to the headland, and even though it was breezy, it was well worth the effort. I still had another 5 minutes to sunset!

The view down towards the Calf was breath-taking. I was almost spoilt as to which view I should choose to take.

Half way through the pictures, two hikers appeared and wandered around the tower taking pictures. Only after a couple of minutes they realised I was also there, and were in my shot. No matter, there was still a couple of minutes left before the sun dropped below the horizon.

On the way up, I had noticed the moon, but at the time, it was obscured by cloud, but on the way down again, it was clear, resulting in this shot of the tower with the gorse and heather.

On returning the car, I was pleased to find I had a new pair of socks. Mrs A-B had been very productive.
